As all restaurants in Providencia, the vibe of this place is chilled and relaxed. Tourists seem to ignore the fact that this is a small island not a big city and food is prepared at the moment of ordering. This is not a fast food chain, as such patience and kindness to people working in these places is the bare minimum. If you live in a rush, Providencia might not be the best place for a holiday. Regarding Miss Elma, me and my husband had an amazing experience, great flavors! We ordered the special dish of Miss Elma and her Princesses and patacones with shrimps! Were very generous portions and while we waited we had some beers and a lemonade frappe!!

It’s a beautiful place, special nice-romantic view, the food had been always extremely delicious ! For me the best place for traditional food! Also the service had been always excellent! I recommend and think it’s a restaurant where you can’t miss when you are in Providencia!

We enjoyed two tasty meals at Miss Elma’s while taking in the beautiful Caribbean view. First meal was a late lunch where my partner had the meal of the day for $35,000 pesos including fish (barracuda-a first!) rice, patacones and salad. He also enjoyed a substantial and delicious fish soup (a meal on its own). I had a chicken plate (rice and salad) which was also very good. We enjoyed the lemonade coco and jugo du lulo. Everything was great and our server was a sweetheart. We went back for breakfast and enjoyed the Americano with a fruit plate, scrambled egg with tomato and onion, bread, juice and coffee. The restaurant is one of the few on the island which accepts credit cards. I highly recommend.

Miss Elma es un restaurante de tradición en Providencia, de esos lugares que forman parte de la historia de la isla y de las familias que iniciaron el turismo aquí. La comida es deliciosa, auténtica y hecha con cariño. La sopa es simplemente increíble, uno de esos platos que te quedan en la memoria. El ambiente nos encantó: tranquilo, local y con esa sensación de estar en un lugar que ha visto pasar generaciones. No es un sitio rápido, pero honestamente… ¿qué apuro puedes tener en una isla tan maravillosa? Parte del encanto es sentarse, respirar y disfrutar. Un lugar muy especial, totalmente recomendado.
